Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta

Each year, local Maine artists more than meet the challenge of decorating dozens of Atlantic Giant pumpkins that are displayed in downtown Damariscotta and Newcastle during Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta.

The event celebrates the art of growing giant pumpkins, blended with pumpkin art, pumpkin parade, a pumpkin regatta (relay races with hollowed out pumpkin boats). Maine’s beloved festival of giant pumpkins blends the art of growing giant pumpkins with whimsical pumpkin art-decorated, painted, sculpted, the pumpkin parade, pumpkin derby, dessert competition, a regatta in hollowed out pumpkins, motorized and non-motorized divisions, and more pumpkin play. This zany festival weekend includes street performers, great food, and simple fun throughout the Indigenous Peoples holiday weekend.
