Helping to build
a better Portland—
and a better world

A strong sense of community is a vital contributor to wellness, and we believe it’s not only possible to support our neighbors while serving our guests, but a responsibility. That’s why our commitment to wellness extends into our own community through partnerships with these and other organizations.

Preble Street

Every day in the community, Preble Street is on the streets engaging with people experiencing challenges with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty. Listening and building trust over time, they then are able to empower these individuals, providing barrier-free access to services.

Offering support services for behavioral health, substance use, and other needs, Spurwink has had a measurable impact on the community: The Living Room Crisis Center led to a significant reduction in trips to the emergency department, and the organization helped ensure that every member of the Portland Police Department has taken crisis intervention training.

  • Utilizing an electric heat pump HVAC system
  • Installing all-electric kitchen equipment
